Job Title: Disability Case Management Consultant 


Location: Nova Scotia, Canada (Remote)

Job Type: Part time -Full-Time

Overview: We have an exciting opportunity for a Disability Case Management Consultant. In this role, you will manage both occupational and non-occupational disability claims to resolution. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working both independently and as part of a team, and have strong analytical and communication skills, this position is perfect for you. As a strategic thinker, you will employ innovative approaches to assist clients with workplace absences. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Foster strong relationships with clients throughout Nova Scotia. 
  • Design and implement outcome-driven case management plans to support the return of injured or ill employees to work. 
  • Collaborate with employers, insurers, healthcare providers, and employees to develop action plans for the safe reintegration of absent employees. 
  • Evaluate medical and non-medical factors influencing return-to-work outcomes. 
  • Analyze medical, functional, and occupational information. 
  • Identify and address obstacles to effective Return-to-Work planning. 


Job Requirements: 

  • A bachelor's degree in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, kinesiology (preferred) or Occupational Health Nursing or training, education and experience in Disability Management.   
  • Disability Case Management experience considered an asset 
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills 
  • Knowledge of insurance systems, workers’ compensation legislation, occupational health legislation. 
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and writing skills 
  • Strong interpersonal skills

As a strategic thinker, you will employ innovative approaches to assist clients with workplace absences. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Foster strong relationships with clients throughout Nova Scotia. 
  • Design and implement outcome-driven case management plans to support the return of injured or ill employees to work and pre-injury level of function. 
  • Collaborate with employers, insurers, healthcare providers, and claimants to develop action plans for the safe reintegration to work if applicable. 
  • Evaluate medical and non-medical factors influencing return-to-work and rehabilitation outcomes. 
  • Analyze medical, functional, and occupational information. 
  • Identify and address obstacles to effective Return-to-Work planning or return to pre-injury level of function. 


Job Requirements: 

  • A bachelor's degree in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, kinesiology (preferred) or Occupational Health Nursing or training, education and experience in Disability Management.   
  • Disability Case Management experience considered an asset 
  • Knowledge of provincial auto insurance regulations 
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills 
  • Knowledge of insurance systems, workers’ compensation legislation, occupational health legislation. 
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and writing skills 
  • Strong interpersonal skills
